I am knowledgeable of and am committed to the education that I must continue to better understand underlying inequities in our society. For those in this community that identify as marginalized, I understand that there is emotional labor, and more, on your part for correcting, educating, and just living when it comes to interacting with others. If you witness an area of improvement in Red Thumb, I am open to any and all feedback, should you want to spend the mental and emotional energy.

Looking for the small wins

Gardens, the outdoors, and people stand out as the places where I have found my energy over the past 15 years. Red Thumb is the realization of these three beating hearts that allows me to support my neighbors with their dreams.

Besides gardening, I enjoy being on all fours with his furry cattle dogs, Roo and Chile. My partner, Melissa, and I focus on spending intentional time with one another and our community so that we can cherish each of the small moments that pop up around us.

Learning with a Growth Mindset

We all subscribe to different tribes of values, beliefs, and actions. As a cis-gendered male in the American society, I choose to realize my privileges and understand how they affect others - especially those who have been historically marginalized. Please read my Land Acknowledgement to better grasp the respect I have for those who have come before me on this sacred land.

Good-Fit Perspective

Have you ever felt the pressure to purchase something? It could be anything. A car. A lamp. A computer. There’s a pressure that many salespeople have when they are working with a customer that seems to do the opposite of what they hope — it drives the customer away. That feeling that you get in those situations, I want you to never feel that with Red Thumb. Similarly, I hold the right to refuse business to anyone. As an up front note, I do not accept racism, bigotry, misogyny, or any prejudice toward others. Hopefully that’s enough of a clue that if you act on those beliefs, then we’re not a good fit to work together. So here it is plainly:

I work with Neighbors who love creating safe spaces for all and who prioritize the curiosity of learning about one another over emphasizing divisions.
